In 2016 DigiComm launched a virtual reality zoo in Dubai Mall — billed as a world first. The brief was not a headset in a corner. It was an attraction: queue, dwell, encounter, share.
Location-based VR in a mall has different rules from a trade-stand demo. Throughput, hygiene, staff operation, content length and the physical set all have to survive a Saturday afternoon. The VR Zoo is the start of the thread that later includes the VR Park bus and balloon, and the event-VR work we still hire out.
